Fireside chat with Joe Ayyoub, Independent Consultant for Startups

What’s your professional story?

I am a seasoned operational executive specialized in the areas of B2B SaaS for eCommerce, marketing technology and advertising technologies. Covering the online consumer journey.

My deep expertise is in building, managing and scaling customer-facing and customer management organizations – globally. Focusing on the customer’s lifecycle from start to finish.

What was the most difficult part of your experience in the early beginnings?

Needing to learn and master the new cutting-edge technology as well as trying to learn the art of management (I became a manager at early stage of my career).

Is there anything that you would change about your professional path?

I am starting to focus more on finance and that’s an area I like to pursue to change my professional path.

What’s your advice for the businesses that are trying to adapt to this economic climate?

Be creative, be nimble, be patient, hire the best people.

What do you think about the next period of time, keeping in mind the pandemic and the new business climate?

The shift of the consumers to do almost everything online is going to redefine the way companies do business (locally and globally). Also there is no more higher concentrations of talent in areas like Silicon Valley. People are moving all over the country and the world and still doing their jobs in the same quality levels (or higher). This means talent can be anywhere and companies need to keep that in mind.

What books do you have on your nightstand?

Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari and Deep Work by Cal Newport.
