Fireside chat with Krishna C. Surendra, CTO at HR Cloud

Who is Krishna C. Surendra?

Technology leader who led products, people, and processes in building high-traffic websites, mobile applications, and Cloud Services(Saas). Extensive experience in leading large cross-functional global product development teams. Highly regarded for the ability to build partnerships and integrations driving quality and business value forward. Experience in working for startups, medium-sized, and large companies.

Tell us more about your role in HR Cloud?

I work as the Chief Technology officer. Responsible for the software platform development and delivery as well as the company’s security and technology infrastructures. Developed and executed technology roadmap and strategy aligned with company’s growth goals.

What is the most difficult part of your job? But the most rewarding one?

I usually like working on multiple things at HR Cloud and that at times is tough as I have to juggle between multiple projects and interfacing with multiple departments. When we get a good testimonial or a review from our customers that is the most rewarding part of my job in addition to meeting the company’s goals.

Is there anything that you would change about your professional path?

Yes, if given an opportunity I would like to focus more on Technology and building products than focusing on other things related to sales, marketing etc. as I do here.

What’s your key strategy for the development of your company?

It is primarily keeping our customers happy. If we can keep them as a customer we can upsell newer products to them. They can be our product advocates and can give us referrals.
Also I believe in building strategic partnerships and building integrations so our customers benefit from them.

What do you think about the next period of time, keeping in mind the pandemic and the new business climate? How will your industry be affected?

I hope there will not be another Pandemic like COVID-19 in our lifetime. I think the businesses had a tough time adapting to the new work from home culture. Now that WFH is a norm, companies have invested in tools and processes to work with this setup should there be another pandemic.

Please name a few technologies which have the greatest impact on your business.

APIs and Integrations, Mobile Apps.

What books do you have on your nightstand?

The Lean Startup, Zero to OneIndistractable: How to Control Your Attention and Choose Your Life to name a few.

Because of the current economic climate our publication has started a series of discussions with professional individuals meant to engage our readers with relevant companies and their representatives in order to discuss their involvement, what challenges they have had in the past and what they are looking forward to in the future.
